Adam C. Berger, MD, FACS is a Professor and Chief of the Melanoma and Soft Tissue Sarcoma Section at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. He is also the Associate Director for Shared Resources in the Cancer Institute. He completed his residency in surgery at the University of Maryland in 2002 after spending two years in the Surgery Branch of the National Cancer Institute from 1997-1999. He then completed a fellowship in surgical oncology at the Fox Chase Cancer Center from 2002-2004. He was at Thomas Jefferson University from 2004 to July 2019. His research interests include clinical trials for cancer, the formation of clinical databases and prospective evaluation of clinicopathologic prognostic factors for various malignancies. He is actively involved in teaching and mentoring medical students, residents and junior faculty and in 2015 won the Dean's award for Faculty Mentoring at Thomas Jefferson.
